As we approach the end of the semester there are a few exciting things happening with Chacmool! First is the Chacmool Elections which are still ongoing! We are looking for interested individuals to sign up for roles before March 24th at 2 PM. Starting Monday the 27th we encourage all students to come to the office and vote on the different individuals running for each position. The positions include: President who is the public face of Chacmool and is in charge of dealing with the department, the students, and the archaeology community as a whole, Vice President who aids the rest of the executive when needed, takes care of publications from the Chamcool conference, Treasurer who is the finance god, who tells us to either make it rain or ring in our spending, and finally Social Coordinator who plans and orchestrates various events throughout the year. All of these positions are incredibly rewarding and I encourage anyone interested to come up to the office (ES 826) and sign up! Second, the department is looking to do focus groups regarding the curriculum. We need between 6 and 8 students who are able to meet between 12 and 1/130 some time next week. If you are interested please reply to this email, message us at chacmool on facebook, or come visit us at the office (ES 826). We need to have the volunteers by this friday (March 24). Finally, we here at chacmool know that this can be a stressful season for many students, so we encourage you to come out and blow off steam with your fellow students at our annual Chacmool Scavenger Hunt! This is a super fun event that we host every year which involves getting a group from 2-6 people together and running around campus solving challenges and riddles! We strongly encourage teams to dress up as there may be a prize for best dressed *hint hint*. The team to finish the scavenger hunt first will also receive a sweet prize!
