[Chacmool-l] Elections and Scavenger Hunt

Chacmool Members,

 

Tuesday is the last day to sign up for our executive elections that run from
Wednesday to Friday this week. Become a part of the Chacmool Exec team for
next year! Plan events, network, and have an amazing position to put on your
resume/CV. All positions can be contested and we have only one potential
returning executive which means less competition in the elections.
Executives also get their own office where they can study quietly and relax.
Sign up sheets are outside our office ES 826 *We strongly recommend members
run for a position as it looks great on a resume in the tough economy. It
also looks well on a CV for Masters school*

 

Also, do not forget to sign up for our Scavenger Hunt on Friday 5pm-7pm.
Sign up ends on Wednesday. Teams of 2-4 with a creative team name can sign
up outside our office ES 826. The Scavenger Hunt pits you against other
teams made up of Archaeologists/anthropologists as you run around the campus
solving clues and completing activities! We will hold a small celebration
afterwards too! 

This is a reminder for everyone that the Planning Committee for the 49th
Annual Chacmool Archaeology Conference is holding its first bake sale on
Tuesday, April 5th in order to raise funds for the conference. We are kindly
asking for donations of baked goods from faculty, staff, and students.
Donating baked goods will earn you two volunteer hours towards the
conference (and as we all know, you only need eight hours to get free
registration), and you can earn up to a maximum of four hours for multiple
donations. We are also looking for volunteers to work at the table between
9:00am-5:00pm on the day of (these hours will also go towards your
registration for the conference). If you would like to volunteer, please
contact  <mailto:tdewald at ucalgary.ca> tdewald at ucalgary.ca. All donations can
be brought to the bake sale table on April 5th, which will be in Science B
(on the way to Mac Hall).
