It has now been scheduled for Friday February 27th! 2. Winter Meet and Greet The food has been made and the alcohol bought. All we need now is for our wonderful members to join us this Friday, February 6th at 5pm in ES859 for our annual Winter Meet and Greet. As always food is free and alcohol is cheap. We hope to see everyone there! 3. Anarky Talk Next Wednesday, Feb 11th, Adrienne Offenbecker will be talking about Bioarchaeological Analysis of Elite Burial Tomb with Probable Human Sacrifice at Paquime, Chihuahua Mexico. As always it'll take place at 12pm in ES614. 4.Archaeology Beyond Academy The next instalment in this series is called Aboriginal Employment and Skills Enhancement Programme and will be given by Sean Pickering. It's taking place tomorrow (5th) at 5pm in ES614. The program includes theoretical classes and practical workshops. Inter-session Field Trip ? Italy (June 28 ? July 7) A ten day trip visiting Siena, Florence and Rome: places of cultural interest, the urban and historical development of each town, and specialized visits to places of interest to restorers. Inter-session Field Trip ? Athens (check-in Saturday, June 27 - check-out Friday, July 10) A twelve day visit of Athens: an exploration of the history of preservation and conservation issues facing the city lead by some of the top Athenian experts in their field. It's the winter semester, so that means it's time for the annual Kula Ring photo contest! As per usual, there will be the social/cultural and primatological categories, but new for this year are the archaeology and development studies categories. We are excited to be collaborating with the Chacmool club and the Development Studies Students for Change club for this years contest. Anybody is allowed to submit photos, and they don't need to be strictly from field schools or academic research. There will be a judging party for those photos submitted and the winners of each category will be selected by those attending the party! Prizes will be given to the winners of each category and an even bigger one for the overall winner (as a note: food will be supplied, and bevvies will be available for purchase at the party). Please find attached a .pdf with more details about submitting photos as well as dates and times for submission deadlines and the party itself. Feel free to send us any questions you may have! 2.Anarky Talk March 4th's talk will will be given by Angela Crotty and is titled " When Less is More: Early Nursing Cessation as a Female Counterstrategy to Infanticide in Ursine Colobines (Colobus vellerosos)" As always there will be tea, coffee and snacks, this month provided by Kula Ring!
