As many of you know every Wednesday there is a noon hour lecture in ES859.
This weeks lecture topic is "Archaeology with a Tropical State of Mind"
given by Dr. McCafferty. Coffee, Tea and snacks will be provided! For more
information check out the posters found on the 8th floor of Earth
Sciences.

The 46th Annual Chacmool Conference is fast approaching! This years theme
is Trading Spaces: The Archaeology of Interaction, Migration and Exchange!
It will be taking place from November 7th to 9th 2013! I don't know about
you guys but I'm getting super excited! Whats really great about this
years conference is that you can volunteer and still have time for reading
days! I will let you guys know when more information on volunteering
becomes available!

I promise I'm almost done! This year Chacmool is doing something a little
different. We are looking for a Grad student Liaison, so that we can
better communicate with the grad students. If you are a grad student and
this is something you'd be interested in doing stop by our office and let
us know!

Kaiden Tajiri was an archaeology student at the University of Calgary. She
was forced to take time off from school when her home in High River was
destroyed in the flooding this year. Some students have put together and
Indigogo account to raise funds to help her return to school. They are
also collecting donations of furniture. If you are interested in helping
out check out The Tajiri Project on Facebook!

Last but not least I have attached some information regarding an
anthropological field school in Belize! Check it out!

Have a great week and see you all friday!
