Hi everyone - just a follow up note that I asked Mishty to explain the results of her thesis since I will be reading it later as an examiner and I’m completely outside her field.  In case you are interested in hearing about what she’s done, this will be one of your last chances as she is headed for fairer fields as a PDF following her graduation.

I live and work on the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta.  The University of Calgary both acknowledges and pays tribute to the traditional territories of the people of Treaty 7, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprised of the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai First Nations), the Stoney Nakoda (including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations) and Tsuut’ina First Nation. The City of Calgary is also home to the Metis Nation of Alberta (Districts 5 and 6). By virtue of the signing of Treaty 7 in 1877, the university recognizes that we are all treaty people.
