The Department of Communication, Popular Culture & Film at Brock University invites applications for a one-year, limited-term appointment in Communication Studies. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will commence July 1, 2019.  The position is subject to final budgetary approval.

With over 750 majors, including over 400 majors in Business Communication, the Department of Communication, Popular Culture, and Film offers undergraduate programs in Business Communication, Media & Communication, Film Studies, and Popular Culture. Its innovative MA program in Popular Culture is unique in Canada. All of our programs are rooted in a strong tradition of interdisciplinary teaching and research. Qualifications
The Department is seeking candidates with expertise in Communication Studies. Candidates must have or be near completion of a PhD in Communication Studies or a cognate discipline, and a strong record of research and teaching in fields directly associated with Business Communication and Media. The courses assigned to this position will be Communication & Media Policy (COMM 3P19), Media Analysis (COMM 3P15), Special Topics in Business Communication (COMM 4P65/6), and a fourth course drawn from the candidate’s area of expertise. Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas would be an asset: social media analytics; ethics, algorithms, & big data; marketing communication; and/or Indigenous communication.
