The School of Journalism and Communication at Carleton University is
inviting applications to its PhD program and has openings for students to
join the Alternative Global Network (ALiGN) Media Lab. The deadline for
applications is Feb 1, 2019.

ALiGN Media Lab examines the intricate relationship between media
(especially digital media) and society, focusing especially on social
justice, citizen participation, and social movements. The Lab is founded
and directed by Dr. Merlyna Lim and is housed in Carleton’s vibrant
Communication and Media program. Working directly with a variety of local
and globally interconnected networks, the lab provides space to research,
reshape, and create narratives, imaginaries, and materialities of contemporary
social movements for justice.

The PhD program in Communication is comprised over 20 faculty, all of whom
are involved in graduate study. Successful applicants are offered generous
funding comprised of scholarship awards, teaching assistantships, and are
eligible for research assistant (RA) work and awards. The lab provides a
unique opportunity for scholars to join in reshaping the imaginary and
materiality of global network society. Come join us!
