Message-ID: <027401ccadeb$55cd27d0$01677770$@ucalgary.ca> Hey Clubs, Looking for a fun way to get involved on campus this holiday season to before the doom and gloom of Final Exams? Also looking for a way to give back during this festive time of year and get some recognition and funding for your club? Nogfest is your chance to make it all happen! The University of Calgary?s Students? Union is proud to present the 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Building Contest! On December 6th 2011 from 12-2pm, clubs will have the chance to build fabulous gingerbread creations and then compete against one another for over $300 in club funding. How do you win? Spectators, friends, and fellow club members can vote for the most epic house by donating money. The top three teams will take home some clubs cash and a whole new level of pride. Gingerbread House Building Rules: ? Teams of 4-6 people from one club will be provided with Gingerbread house making kits ? Teams are allowed to bring in three additional items of their choosing to add to their houses to make them bigger, badder, and more delicious ? Teams will have 30 minutes to assemble and decorate their kit ? Once the kits have been assembled, each team will have one hour to encourage individuals to ?vote? on their house with donations. Teams are allowed to leave the building location and go elsewhere in the school to recruit voters, however all donations must be brought back to the North Courtyard before the hour time limit is up. ? Eating another team?s house is not allowed because that?s uncool. ? Winners will be announced during the Nogfest Wrap-up Show at That Empty Space 3-6pm Dec 9th, so make sure you are there to collect your coin! First place will receive $150.00 in club funding, second place will receive $100.00 in club funding and third place will receive $75.00 in clubs funding to pay for a party, buy pizza, or whatever your club is into! Registration for the Gingerbread Building Contest closes at November 29th, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. Send the name of your club along with the contact info of a team captain to eventsteam @ su . ucalgary . ca to reserve your spot. The Students? Union is also pleased to announce a ?Toy Mountain? initiative. Students will have the opportunity to donate new, packaged toys during the week of December 5th through 9th from 11:00 am-2:00 am at the ?Ugly Sweater Sale? table in the North Courtyard of MacEwan student?s centre. While all students are encouraged to donate and will be entered into a prize draw at the end of the week, we are offering additional incentive for clubs. Club members can donate toys on behalf of their club, and the club who donates the most toys will win additional club funding. Let?s end this semester in style and make Nogfest an even bigger success than it was last year. Reply ASAP and show some support for your Club and the SU!
