hi everyone,

we have been busy working on a complete rebuild of the UpStage platform, which had a soft release a couple of weeks ago & we are about to put it out there into the world (https://upstage.live/ and https://github.com/upstage-org/upstage)

it's a platform for real-time collaboration with all kinds of digital media, including streams. we are using rtmp streaming, & don't have the financial resources to have no latency at all, but we are used to that.

I have actually been exploring a complementary thread - textures - defined by statistically distributed events with a looser relationship to specific timing. An class of sound made for jittery and unpredictable substrates.

Dear Stremers,
I just thought I?d send a ping to this old list from calgary.
What has everyone been up to lately!

I myself am working on an idea for a well-tempered network.
That is, a quick calculation of general latency between all cities in order
to explore each possibility for a polytempo/rhythm, polymeter collaboration.
Then to fine tune to particular configurations of nodes that are actually online and engaged.
Then to send out close matches of temporal templates for those nodes to engage rhythmically with.
each configuration would require some tweaking of the audio path latency by some participants.

If anyone interested to stay in the loop, let me know.
