Hi Everyone,
Just a reminder, TODAY is the October CAMUG meeting at the
University of Calgary. Tonight at 6pm! Come enjoy a short
interesting talk, some free snacks, and network with other
agile-oriented professionals!
Once again, there has been a room change from last year; we're
located right next-door in ICT 122.
In this, our second session, we're lucky to have Michael Sikorsky as
our guest. Michael will be giving us a talk entitled "Startup
Confessions from an Agile Junkie" and answering some fascinating
questions such as "Do Agile Methods apply beyond software?" and "Do
they lend well to recruiting, financing, marketing, and governance?"
Mr. Sikorsky will relate his experiences of applying adaptive
techniques to his latest startup, Cambrian House. Cambrian house has
attracted worldwide attention and renown.
According to Michael, the presentation will also cover:
- amazing insights into the universe
- hyperbole :)
Bio:
Michael loves startups, software and people. Michael has been named an
"internet revolutionary" by Profit, and a Top 30 startup founder by
CNN Money. He also won the 2007 Best Elevator Pitch in Canada award.
Michael has spoken at Harvard Business School, CyberPort (HongKong),
MIT, Red Herring, Bar Camp Bejing, MESH and Community 2.0. Michael
sold his last software company to ThoughtWorks and was born on
91191600.
About Cambrian House:
Cambrian House has become a recognized leader in crowdsourcing.
Business 2.0 declared Cambrian House as the third most world shaking
business model in August of 2007.
Cambrian House has generously offered a donation to cover the meeting
expenses and support CAMUG as well.
