About aim-hi-L | |
The AIM-HI Network represents a commitment on the part of established Indigenous and non-Indigenous health research faculty to enable new and expanded opportunities for First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) mentees to pursue and succeed in health research training programs. We have developed a multilayered and cascading mentoring program that encourages networking, the development of collegial and supportive academic relationships, personal growth, and interdisciplinary conversations, while providing pillars of support from academic and community members. We will catalyze a generation of FNMI health researchers who through participation in the AIM-HI Network will have strengthened their personal resource of resilience to succeed in academic pursuits while maintaining their connection to community. Embedded in our activities is an evaluation so we may understand our impacts and build on our success. The Network will foster collaborations within and between partner organizations which will promote long-term training sustainability and promote an enduring infrastructure to build capacity in Alberta for FNMI health-focused mentees.
